Former Attorney General to Join Troutman Sanders Tobacco Team

We are pleased to announce that former Utah Attorney General Mark L. Shurtleff will join the firm in January 2013.

Shurtleff, who was first elected in 2000 as Utah’s chief lawyer, is retiring from public office after three terms and is recognized as an expert in numerous cutting edge legal issues, including tobacco-related matters. During his tenure, he was a member and co-chair of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Tobacco Advisory Committee. He came into office shortly after the tobacco Master Settlement Agreement was signed and has significant experience with issues involving the PACT Act, tribal sales, dissolvable tobacco products and e-cigarettes.

Shurtleff will work with the Tobacco Team out of Troutman Sanders’ Washington, D.C., office.
